Weather Map & Info:
Venezuela is good to visit any time of the year as the country experiences a pleasant climate year round with the average temperature never exceeding 30 degrees Celsius. The best time to visit Venezuela is during the dry season, which runs through December to April. January and February are the coldest months, so you should avoid travel during that time. From the chart below, you can see that second or third week of April seems to be the best time to travel throughout the year.
- Wildlife viewing: is better during the dry season, because the animals usually hide when it's raining. March in particular is considered the best time to go, because all the wildlife concentrates in the little water left in the rivers and lagoons.
- Angel Falls: is better towards the end of the rainy season because it is running stronger and looks more impressive. During dry season, the water level in the river can be so low that canoes can't navigate.
- Trekking and Mountain Climbing: is better during the dry season because during the rainy season, trails tend to be slippery and weather gets unbearably hot and humid.
- Beaches: while is rare to get rained in along the coast, the waters do get a bit rough. Venezuela is out of the hurricane belt.
